Jenna, with a collective of 3 billion views and 20 million subscribers uploaded a video on her channel earlier this week explaining her choice. This 11 minute video titled “A Message” went in depth of her past content and how she is now holding herself accountable. This includes an impersonation of female rapper Nicki Minaj in black face, rapping a racist song, and slut-shaming. 

Jenna has been on the platform for more than 10 years and has created a constant flow of videos but explained that she recently had to private her older videos due to an outrage of fans. “I’m unbelievably sorry … I wish it wasn’t part of my past” Jenna states in her video. 

Jenna says for now she cannot come back to the platform and make content stating “I need to be done with this channel for now, or forever” Throughout social media Jenna has gotten an overwhelming amount of support from not only her fans but fellow youtubers as well.
