“Spitting Image” finds Nia Vexn delivering a sharp, unapologetically British story over the raw pulse of classic jungle.

Built around chopped Amen breaks, deep sub bass, atmospheric pads and the hiss and saturation of old-school production, the track deliberately avoids the polished edges of modern electronic music. It feels like something pulled from a forgotten white label, carrying the grit and energy of London’s early jungle underground.

At the center is Nia Vex’s storytelling. Witty, confrontational and brutally observant, she addresses a man determined to deny what everyone around him can plainly see. The resemblance is in the smile, the walk, the attitude and eventually, the mirror.

There’s humor in it, but there’s also consequence.
